Donald Louis Ankele, age 74, of Cherokee, AL, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002. Funeral Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel, Cherokee. Burial Asphalt Rock Cemetery. Visitation Friday, Jan. 25, 2002 from 6 until 9 p.m. Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee, directing. Perry Murphy will be the officiating minister.
Mr. Ankele was a native of Chicago, IL and a Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Ankele. Survivors, son Thomas Greig of Naperville, IL and daughter Kathy Murphy of Cherokee; sister, Dorothy Meyer of Naperville, IL; grandchildren, Madeline Greig, Kevin Murphy and Scott Murphy.
