Henry F. Clark was born in Ray County, September 5, 1877, the son of J.M. and Mary Clark and passed away April 22nd, 1945 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Heckenlively, at Smithville at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 7 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Eupha Bell Leabo in 1907 and to this union were born three children: Cpl. Carl Henry Clark, stationed at Alexandria, Louisiana; Mrs. Maurice Chambers, Clarksdale and Mrs. Walter Heckenlively of Smithville. After the death of his wife he and the children continued to reside at Gower. He married Miss Sylvia Cain of Stanberry in 1930.
During a series of meetings at the Baptist Church at Stanberry he professed faith and was baptized by the late Rev. James B. W. Moore. He is survived by his wife and three children, one granddaughter, Laurel Lee
Chambers, and six sisters. He was buried from the McComas Funeral Home at Smithville and Rev. Tucker of the Christian Church in charge. "Abide with Me" and "Nearer My God to Thee" were sung and burial was in the Smithville cemetery.
Mrs. Heckenlively came to Clarksdale and spent the week with her sister,Mrs. Maurice Chambers and Mrs. John Chambers took her back to Smithville Sunday.
