Born in Cartersville, Va., Mrs. Berry had been a Hampton resident since 1927. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Hobbs Sunday School Class and Circle #3.
Mrs. Berry is survived by her daughter, Judith B. Arnold and husband, Thom, of Shallotte, N.C.; son, Donald F. Berry and wife, Cheryl, of Hampton; sister, Evelyn S. Paxton of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Watson Shores, Wilson Shores, Roy Shores, Linwood Shores, Marion Shores; and sisters, Sallie Bottomly and Minnie Rodeffer.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home by the Rev. William R. Kyle Jr. with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
