Thora U. "Tootsie" Cain passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at the age of 90.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Friday in Brown, Owens & Brumley's Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Interment: Thora will be laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Brown, Owens & Brumley Funeral Directors.
Thora was born April 7, 1922, to the late John and Eddie Hampton in Fort Worth. Thora worked in a factory until her late 70s and retired after many dedicated years of service. She loved children, bowling and fishing and had a special love for her dogs. She also loved dancing and working in her yard. She was very proud of the fact that she was still able to work in her yard even at her age. She made the world a brighter, peaceful and more colorful place with her gardening skills. She was a member of the Haltom Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors: Nieces, Brenda Groschup, Shirley Holmes, Sylvia Robertson and Elsie Marie; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and great-great-great-nephew; special furry friend, Oreo; and many friends.
