James William Adams, Sr. was born at Frontier, Wyoming January 16, 1922; the son of Samuel and Irene (Miller) Adams. He was educated in the Kemmerer school system. He worked for the coal mines near Frontier until he entered the United States Army during World War II.
He married Ruby Helen Clark in Evanston, Wyoming on April 8, 1950. He worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron, living in Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Wyoming. He moved to Douglas, Wyoming in 1956 where he became a self-employed trucker and remained a resident until his death.
Mr. Adams was a member of the Samuel Mares American Legion Post No. 8 in Douglas, Wyoming and was a member of the Wyoming Truckers Association.
He is survived by his wife Ruby of Douglas; his son James W. Adams, Jr. of Douglas; his daughter Gerri Giegerich of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin; two sisters Virginia Nielson of Kemmerer, Wyoming and Mary Moffat of Big Piney, Wyoming; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Calab Adams of Douglas; Jennifer Lynn Giegerich and Rebecca Jo Giegerich of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.
