Graveside services were held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24 at Glendo Horseshoe Cemetery for Mason Alger, 65, who was found dead at home last Wednesday. Death occurred from natural causes on July 20, according to Platte County Coroner Ted Schrader.
Alger, born in Green Castle, Missouri, had lived in the Glendo area since 1931. He had been a timber worker, sheep herder and most recently had done ranch work. He began working for Mrs. Stella Martindale at her ranch on Horseshoe Creek in 1961 and after her death in 1964 he continued to work at the ranch for Mrs. Martindale's daughter, Mrs. Pat Chambers and her husband.
Mr. Alger is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elnore James of Florissant, Missouri and Mrs. Vera Mullanix of Warren, Michigan; and by three brothers, Cecil of Glendale, California; Wendell of St. Louis, Missouri and Murrul of Quincy, Illinois.
