Joseph Stephenson was born 12 Oct 1810 (gravestone). My first record of him is his marriage to Delilah Fry (Frey) on 12 Oct 1833 in Logan Co, OH. I saw the original record. They had 10 children there. In 1852 Joseph bought 40 acres in Starke Co, IN. The purchase occured in Logan Co, OH. Delilah is missing in the 1860 Census in Jasper Co, IN where the family moved from Starke Co.

Joseph died 26 Mar 1872 (gravestone). My sis and I found his stone in Oct 2008 in Garrison Cemetery in Couch Twp, Hamilton Co, IL. It was broken across the bottom and lying face-up on the ground. I hired a local man to stand the stone up and re-cement it. His stone is near the road that runs along the east side of the cemetery in the rear section. It is right in front of the large John Hullinger stone (who is father of Joseph’s daughter Lucinda’s husband).

Inscription
"Our Father" at the top. Across the face of the stone it says, "Joseph Stephenson" Below that is, "Died Mar 26, 1872" The next line is, "Aged 61 y's, 5 m's 14 d's" At the very bottom right hand corner is, "W. H. Cobb, Olney ILL" who is probably the maker of the stone.
