GASTONIA - Courtney Clements Abernathy, 34, died February 19, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of Gary Dean and Ellen Coren Clements. She was a 1995 graduate of South Point High School and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Belmont. She worked with Arrowpoint Capital.

A service to celebrate Courtney's life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Andrews officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. before the service in the Family Life Center.

Survivors include her parents, Gary and Ellen Clements; sons, Caleb and Casey Abernathy; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Stacey Clements; fiancé, Marty Taylor; grandmothers, Helen Clements and Helen Coren; father of her children, Brian Abernathy; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be made to Gaston Humane Society, P.O. Box 2334, Gastonia, NC 28053-2334.
