Death of Mrs. E. G. Adger.
This community was greatly grieved to learn of the sad death of Mrs. Eliza Grey Adger, nee McMahon, which occurred at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. A. R. Thompson, of Benton, at 6:20 a. m., April 5, 1897.
Mrs. Adger was born in Ireland, September 17, 1825, and was in the 72d year of her age. She emigrated to South Carolina with her parents when a child, and was raised in Columbia, S. C. She was married to Mr. Joseph Ellison Adger (who died February 1, 1881) in 1845, and came with her husband to Bossier parish in 1858, where she lived until her death. She leaves three children living - Messrs. Joseph E. Adger, William L. Adger and Robert E. Adger - twenty-two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. M E. R. Ripley, who lives at Hendersonville, N. C., survives her.
