My mother, Lila Rae Bibbee Edmundson told me her father's middle name was McClinic. Official West Va. records, specifically, the marriage certificate, shows it as Maclintock. The marriage record of his daughter, Helen, to a Campbell, says "McClinic." I am not certain which middle name is correct.

My mother, Lila Rae Bibbee Edmundson told this story to me many times as a child. She said her father died when she was 8 years old. All she remembered was that it snowed very hard the day of his funeral. She never knew where he was buried in the cemetery (Sunset Memorial Park, Clarksburg, W.Va.) and was later told the records were destroyed in a fire.

I became interested in genealogy in the 1980's. I concentrated soley on the Edmundson (paternal) side of the family for years. I thought "Wouldn't it be wonderful if I could locate the grave of my grandfather for my mother." I went to the cemetery and searched the records. I easily found the location of my grandfather, George McClinic Bibbee.

I took my mother to the final resting place of her father. Needless to say, it was quite an emotional experience for both of us. It was probably the finest moment ever between me and my mother.

We cleaned the grave which had suffered many years of neglect. My father bestowed upon me the duty to take care of all our descendants graves as he did. To this very day, I continue this family tradition.
