Loses Father by Death.
Mrs. Thomas Henry, a former resident here but for the past two years living in Fox, Kentucky, mourns the loss of her father, J.C. Bogie, who died December 5th. Two years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Henry went to Kentucky in order to care for her father who was in poor health.
John Clark Bogie was born in 1849 in Silver Creek, Madison county, Ky., where he grew to manhood. In 1870 he was married to Texanna Prather of Lexington, Ky., who died in 1892. He never married again, but devoted his life to his children. He was of Scotch-Irish descent, his grandfather having come from Glasgow, Scotland. Mr. Bogie's health had been failing for many years, and two years ago his daughter, Mrs. Henry, went to care for him. A year ago he broke his hip and since that time has been cared for by his sons.
The deceased is survived by six sons and four daughters. The funeral service was held in the Flatwoods church, Waco, Ky., and interment was made in the cemetery there."
