PALESTINE — Services for James Edward "Jimmy" Conklin, 72, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jack Smith Jr. officiating.
Mr. Conklin went to be with his Lord on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Trucare Living Center surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 14, 1938. He spent his life as a homebuilder. He was also a loving husband, daddy, and papa and will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Jean Conklin; his parents, James G. and Elaine Conklin; and one brother, Bobby.
He is survived by his son, James H. "Bubba" Conklin and wife Brenda; his daughter, Terri Parker and husband Donald; granddaughters, Julie Parker Sparkman, Misti Conklin, Mandy Parker Christensen, and Jamie Conklin; and three great-grandbabies, Gracie, Slade, and Preslee. He also is survived by two stepchildren, William and Megan Hinkle; his sister, Pat Stanley; brothers, Dickie, Harley, and Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
