Charles James Henry was the son of Ralph Henry, a Scottish immigrant, and Hannah Jane Stevens, a native of New York, who were married in Irving, New York, on Feb. 18th, 1952.
After 1865, Charles moved to Hagar, Michigan with his uncle Charles Stevens.
He was working as a farm laborer in 1880 in Waterloo, Michigan, eventually moving to Chicago where he met his future wife, Eliza Davis. They were married on Feb. 1 1885 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Chicago.
Charles worked as a ship rigger and eventually a teamster in Chicago before his death in 1918 during the flu epidemic.
He and Eliza were the parents of 10 children, 6 of them dying young.
