Died of Tuberculosis at Southwestern State Hospital (a tuberculosis hospital at the time but is now SWVAMHI/Southwest Virginia Mental Health Institute) which is located in Marion, Virginia. There exists a graveyard and a memorial tribute on-site for those who died there either of tuberculosis or other ailments. Many families who could not either afford a private burial offsite or had no family were interred there.
