Adolph W. Laux Jr., 77, president and manager of the A. J. Laux Co., printing and stationery business, died Wednesday (Nov. 28, 1968). Death came as a result of a heart attack at .the home of his daughter, Mrs. Raymond Campbell, 599 Davison Road. He had been ill for several weeks and had been staying with Mrs. Campbell since being discharged from Lockport Memorial Hospital a few days ago..

Mr. Laux was born in Lockport Oct. 23, 1891, the son of Adolph W. and Marie Reinig Laux Sr. He lived in Quincy, Mass., from 1917 to 1942, when he was superintendent of the Beckler Press..

Mr. Laux was a known dog fancier. In 1960 he headed a fund-raising drive to complete payment on the SPCA small animal shelter in Military Road, T own of Niagara. Over the years, several stories about his pet cocker spaniels have appeared in the Union- Sun & Journal..

Mr. Laux, a 32nd Degree Ma son, was a member of the Buffalo Ismailia Temple, the Lockport shrine Club, Niagara Lodge 375, F&AM; Ames Chapter 39, Ram; Bruce Council 15, RAM, and Genesee Commandery 10, Knights Templar..

A Navy veteran, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2535; B. Leo Dolan Post 410, American Legion, and Navy Ship 110..

In addition, Mr. Laux was a member of the Lockport Tuscarora Club, Aerie 825 Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lock City Lodge 67, Tioga Tribe 289 of Redmen, the Elks Club of Quincy, Mass., the Lockport Industrial Management Club and the Lockport Town and Country Club. He was a charter member of the Lockport Exchange Club. His wife, Mrs. Helen Pfeiffer -Laux, died Dec. 22, 1950. Surviving besides Mrs. Campbell I s another daughter, Mrs. Roger De Meule of South Weymouth, Mass., five grandchildren and six great - grandchildren..

Niagara Lodge 375 F&AM will conduct services at the Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., at 9 p.m. tomorrow, where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Richard H. Scheffler, pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, officiating..
