Earl W. Cox 87 of Greensburg, died Tuesday Evening, March 28, 1995 in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born June 3, 1907 in New Carlisle, Ohio. A son of the late Alpheus and Anna Mary Cox.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed by the ITE Circuit Breaker and Silvis Farms. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Greensburg.
In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Mae Myers Cox, on July 28, 1983; by his granddaughter, Celeste Jane Ostrander, on Jan 23, 1986; two brothers, Raymond and Albert Cox ; and two sisters, Helen Cox and Mary Emma Sharp. He is survived by two sons, David E. Cox of Bayminette, Ala, and Paul E. Cox of Greensburg; four daughters Mrs John ( Betty Jane )McCready of Mt Morris Mich, Mrs William ( Dorcas Jean ) Smith of Greensburg, Mrs Daniel (Audrey) Schultheis of Mt Pleasant, and Mrs James (Rhoda) Bell of Greensburg;
14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister Mrs Dorothy Young of New Carlisle Ohio. Friends were received at the Bacha Funeral Home 516 Stanton at Green Streets, Greensburg, Thursday and will be received again Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Services will be held in the
funeral home Saturday at 11 am. with the Rev. Bryon T. Eisaman officiating.Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township, Greensburg, Pa.
