Howard W. was the son of Margaret Ann Alice Slider(1892-1977) and her husband, Alfred Lewis Breaw.

"Breaw, Howard W., peacefully passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at his home in Fort Worth, Texas.

"Mr. Breaw was born on June 4, 1920 in McPherson County, South Dakota to Alfred and Margaret Breaw. He spent his early years on the family farm in Forbes, North Dakota.

"After High School Mr. Breaw attended the State Teachers College and taught school in a one room school house for three years. He then answered the call to enter the Marine Corps at the start of World War II. Mr. Breaw served as a cartographer in the Pacific theater for the duration of the war.

"Howard received many pen pal letters during the war, but he was very fond of one particular letter writer by the name of Betty Maier. They met after his return to the United States and married on August 4th, 1946. Howard and Betty were blessed with a son, Glenn W. Breaw, on November 8, 1948.

"Howard spent his career working in the manufacturing field for Firestone and Cupples Rubber Company. Howard and Betty also owned and operated the Betsy Ross motel in New Jersey for several years. After retirement, Howard and Betty enjoyed many trips around different parts of the world.

"Mr. Breaw was a proud member of the American Legion and a devoted Mason. Mr. Breaw was preceded in death by his son Glenn and his wife Betty. Survivors: Mr. Breaw is survived by his grandson, Nicholas, his nephews Boyd (Ann) Parker and Paul (Peggy) Parker and many nieces and nephews.

"Services: Graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. Visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Wednesday 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at"
