Dale Fitz Randolph, 55, of St. Andrews Circle, died Thursday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home. St. Joseph County Police are investigating the death as a possible suicide. Dr. Louis Grwinski, deputy coroner, was expected to make a ruling. Grwinski could not be reached immediately for comment on the cause of death.
Mr. Radolph was employed be Wilson-St.Pierre Funeral home in Indianapolis, and Chapel Hill Funeral Home as branch manager the past two years. From 1984 to 1987, he was the owner/operator of Mortician Services Inc., Indianapolis. From 1965 to 1984, he was general manager of Food Service Corp Coliseum Concessions Inc. Indiana State Fairgrounds. From 1961 to 1965, he was instructor of embalming and restorative art for Indiana College of Mortuary Science, Indianapolis. He was president of the northern Indiana Funeral Directors Association and Member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association.
Mr. Randolph was born May 7, 1935, in Covington, Indiana and lived in Mishawaka for two years, coming to Carmel, Indiana. He married the former Constance R. Nees. She survives with a step-daughter, Roxie L. Hopkins of Boise, Idaho; Three step daughters Terri j. O'dowd of Minneapolis, Cynthia R. Hoopengarner of Beech Grove, Ind.; Two sons, Brian F of Fort Hood, Texas and David T. of Indianapolis; a stepson, harold C Hoopengarner of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; his mother Mary P Randolph of Culver; and a brother, Allen F. of Culver.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thrusday at Wilson-St Pierre Greenwood Chapel. Burial will be in Carmel (Ind.) Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to any charity.
