Bane, 81, of 8136 County Road 46, Galion, died Sunday, June 19, 2005 at Wade Park V.A. Hospital, Cleveland, after a short illness. Born October 5, 1923 in Wellsburg, W. Va, he was the son of the late Samuel Bane and Lucy (Taylor) Bane. He was preceded in death on May 10, 2000 by his wife, Reba J. (Brokaw) Bane whom he married on June 27, 1942. He graduated from Marengo High School and served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He liked to fish and read. He belonged to St. Paul's Christian
Singles. He retired from Perfection-Cobey Co. after 39 years where he was a machinist and a foreman. After his retirement he worked part time as a security guard for Schmidt Security in Mansfield. Surviving are his son, Larry D. and Jean Bane of Galion; three daughters, Shelda and John Spurck of Mt. Gilead, Jeannetta and Larry Burkey of Apple Creek and Vickie and Troy Robidoux of Morrow County; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Isabelle Thompson of Fulton and a special friend Shirley Swihart of Galion. He was preceded in death by one grandson, one sister and five brothers. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, with Rev. Ray Music officiating. Burial will be next to his wife in Iberia Cemetery.
