Mamie Estelle Burris was the daughter of Lemmie and Hattie Burris. She was born at Sunset, Tex., and came to Greer County with them as a young girl. She had a sister, Edith May (Burris) Nichols, and two brothers, Delbert Burris and Louis Bedford Burris. She married James Rogers in 1939 and their son James came to be nicknamed "Snooky" because he was a good trumpet player and later became a band teacher. On July 6, 1973, she married Doyle Gilbreth. They made their home at Duncan, OK.
