Daniel Patrick is the son of Patrick and Elizabeth "Betsy" Kingston Burkrey, youngest of 7 sons. He enlisted at 21 in the Army, and served in the Spanish American War. In 1917 he was a fireman at the Soldiers Orphan Home in Kansas City, Kansas. He never married. He died of a hemorrhage at age 49. His funeral was held at the home of his brother William Burkrey, 2528 N 8th, Kansas City, Kansas.
