CAMBRIA - Jackie Ray Bailey, 64, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of Jack's life, hosted by his family will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, in First Apostolic Church in Cambria, with the Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to the First Apostolic Church, P.O. Box 455, Cambria, IL 62915. Jack was born Oct. 7, 1948, the youngest of 12 children, in Herrin, to William Alex and Edna Mae (Short) Bailey. He married Cindy Sue Fann on Aug. 27, 1968, in Herrin. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cindy of Cambria; sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin Bailey and Jeff and Rebecca Bailey, all of Zeigler; grandchildren, Kalab Randolph and Kyle Bailey, both of Zeigler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Dorothy Bailey of Blairsville, David Bailey of Tucson, Ariz., Kenneth and Diane Bailey of Cambria and Floyd Bailey of Cambria; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Noel Jean Loyd of Vienna, Joann and Fred Walker of Oswego, Edna Mae and Jerry Wollenweber of Oswego, Virginia and Frank Mezo of Herrin and Mary Waldron of Herrin; mother-in-law, Thelma Spiller of Hurst; aunt, Mildred Short of Cherokee Village, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Barnett; and brothers, Bobby and William "Bill" Bailey. He retired after 39 years of service as a repairman for Maytag in Herrin. For the last seven years, Jack had been working in sales at Coalbelt Antiques, which he enjoyed very much. Jack was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
