"CANNELBURG WOMAN DEAD"
"Mrs. Elizabeth P. Brothers, age 94, widow of John Brothers, died at her home in Cannelburg at eight o'clock Tuesday morning. She was the daughter of William and Sophia Seal, pioneer farmer settlers of Barr township, and has spent her entire long life within the confines of the community of her birth. When a young woman she married Mr. Brothers and they began their wedded life on a farm west of Loogootee, following farm life until death called the husband many years ago.
Mrs. Brothers was the last of a family of eight brothers and sisters all identified with the early settlement of Barr township. She was the mother of nine children, two sons, James and Thomas preceding her in death. Those surviving are Marshall and Damon of St. Mary's neighborhood, Mrs. Thomas Bullock of Cannelburg, Lewis, Frank and Walter of Washington and Mrs. A. T. Brewer of Indianapolis. More than 200 grand and great grandchildren survive.
She was a devout believer in the teachings of the Catholic faith. Funeral Mass will be said at St. Mary's church this (Thursday) morning with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
