Funeral services for Paul F. Box, will be at noon Friday at Howard's Mortuary, Berkeley Park. Burial will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Box, who lived in Idaho Springs, died Tuesday, September 14, 1971, at the American Medical Center in Spivak, Colorado after a lengthy illness. He was 55.
Mr. Box was born January 26, 1916 in Sparksville, Indiana. He was married to Mary F. Sloan on June 12, 1965 in Bedford, Indiana. He had worked as office manager with Raymond Heon Geologist. He also had worked at Martin Marietta.
He was the organizer and first commander of the Verl Huffman VFW Post 9644 and was a member of Elk LOdge 607 in Idaho Springs, where he also worked for three years.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Paul F. Box, Jr., of Oakland, CA; four daughters, Mrs. Paula G. Fay of Atlanta, Mrs. Leslie D. Perry, Mrs. Suzette Morales and Mrs. Elizabeth E. Schonebaum, all of Denver; for step-daughters, Mrs. Kathelene Krieger of Denver, Mrs. Shiela Himes of Lakewood, Miss Susan Smothers and Miss Michelle Smothers, both of Idaho Springs; a step-son Michael Smothers of Idaho Springs; four brothers, Emmett G. and Robert E. Box of Bedford, Indiana, H. Chester Box of Michigan City, IN and Warren of Englewood; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel O. Smith of Greenwood, IN and Mrs. Roberta Speer of Lafayette, IN and 14 grandchildren.
