Caroline M. Allaband of Denton died Saturday, March 3, 2001, in her home. She was 88.
Mrs. Allaband was born in Federalsburg, the daughter of the late Orson Gilbert Martino and Mary Edith Framptom Martino.
She graduated in 1929 from Federalsburg High School and graduated from Hood College. Mrs. Allaband taught school in Federalsburg for nine years and in Denton for one. She taught at North Caroline High School for six years, retiring in 1965. She had lived in Denton since 1942.
Mrs. Allaband had been a member of the St. Luke's Methodist Church, where she played in the bell choir. She was also a member of AARP Chapter 915, a member of the Denton Women's Club and a member of the Memorial Hospital Junior Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, J. Franklin Lane, in 1965 and her second husband, Allee Allaband, in 1985.
She is survived by a son, James F. Lane of Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Sarah L. Howell of Santa Cruz, Calif; a grandson, Benjamin Howell of Scott's Valley, Calif.; four granddaughters, Suzanne Parks of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Heather L. Olson of Durham, N.C., Carrie Lane of New Haven, Conn., and Tawny Lane of College Inn, Iowa; and her pet cat, Samantha.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg.
