Philosopher. A Professor of History and Philosophy. He brought significant contributions to the knowledge of the movement eleatico with some of his articles as "La dottrina parmenidea dell'essere" and his monographic essay "Gli Eleati". For his anti fascist activities among the students was arrested in 1928 and sentenced to five years in prison. He held in Rome a intense and daring work of anti fascist activities since the Nazi occupation of the September 10, 1943 as a member of Comitato Militare del Corpo Volontari della LibertÓ. He was among the founders of the Partito d'Azione. He was arrested in Rome on 1 March 1944, due a complaint of an informer, for his activities in the Resistance. He was brought at the Pensione Oltremare in Rome and he was subjected to such torture to undermine his body but not his spirit. It was useless to attempt to make him confess the identity of his fellow anti fascists even though, according to the testimonies of those who were imprisoned with him, the tortures that he received were such as to make his face swollen and almost unrecognizable. During his imprisonment he tried twice to commit suicide. On 20 March, he was then transferred to the roman prison of Regina Coeli and on March 24 he was murdered along with 335 other martyrs of Ardeatine massacre. In 1947 he was honored with the gold medal for bravery to memory.
