Phillip Davison was born in Andrew county Feb. 24, 1844, and died at his home six miles northwest of Savannah Sunday, September 15, 1907, aged 63 years, 6 months and 21 days. The remains were interred at Fillmore Wednesday, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. George McGee, of the Christian church of Savannah.
He had lived almost his entire life in Andrew County. He enlisted in the service of his country April 1, 1862, and served until the close of the war. He was married to Miss Sarah Messick May 8, 1805, of which union eleven children were born, two dying in infancy. Nine are living, six married and living in the vicinity of Fillmore, three living and unmarried at home. Some thirty years ago Mr. Davison united with the Christian church and became a member of the Old Stone Church organization just south of Fillmore. He was a kind neighbor, and good citizen and an indulgent husband and father, and no needy person was ever turned empty handed from his door.
