AUGUSTA -- Alphedor E. "Pepere" Ayotte, 70, of State Street, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta.He was born in Van Buren on July 16, 1926, the son of Oneil and Martha (Roy) Ayotte.He served in the Navy during World War II, stationed in the Philippines, and was a member of St. Augustine's Parish in Augusta.Alphedor was a master carpenter and a "Jack of All Trades," with nothing that he could not do. His last major project was building a dollhouse for his great-granddaughter, Kimberley.He and his wife spent many years at their cottage on Lake Cobbossee in Manchester and wintered for more than 20 years in Venice, Fla., until illness forced them to return full time to Augusta.He was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Charette of Van Buren and Jeannette Coe of Venice. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Fanny Lagueux Ayotte of Augusta; his daughter, Charlene Brousseau and her husband, Donald, of Manchester; two grandsons, Peter Spears and his wife, Kristy, and their daughter, Kimberley, of Sidney, Michael Spears of Tampa, Fla., and his fiancÚ, Rachael Barker, of Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; two step-granddaughters, Doreen Morgan and her husband, Mark, and their children, David and Darcie Scott of Lewiston, and Debra Whittier and her husband, Phil, and their children, Nicole and Joshua Brayall, of Monmouth; five brothers, Alyre Ayotte and his wife, Antoinette, of Van Buren, Clarence Ayotte of Laconia, N.H., Bertrand Ayotte and his wife, Jeannine, of Augusta, Dominique Ayotte of Sarasota, Fla., and Daniel Ayotte Sr. of Augusta; three sisters, Mona Gagnon and her husband, Dan, of New Sharon, Francine Boucher of Augusta and Laurie Roderique of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Visiting will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1 Church St., Augusta. A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m, Wednesday at St. Augustine's Church, Augusta, with the Rev. Royal Parent, celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery.
