Eunice E. Baer, fifth child of Louis J. Patch and Della May West Patch was born January 24, 1908 at West Union, Custer County, two months after the death of her father. She died July 7, 1992 at the Callaway Rest Home.
She attended elementary school at Antelope Valley and her high school at Round Valley. Most of her life she spent working as a domestic, which included all types of housekeeping and delivering babies. Eunice worked in a bakery and as a maid and nanny in various homes in Wyoming, and Denver, Colorado.
She married Earl Baer of Santa Monica, California, September 3, 1954. Upon his death in 1962 she returned to Denver and worked until a stroke disabled her in 1968. She moved to the Arnold Motor Court and resided there until 1978 when she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Rest home at Callaway, Nebraska.
Survivors include one brother, Hugh Russell of Sargent; two sisters, Mrs Harold (Irene) Ottun of Sargent and Violet Clausen of Stapleton; nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, father and mother, four brothers and one sister. Her body was donated to Creighton School of Medicine in Omaha. Sargent Leader July 23, 1992
