LuRena Rae Cantwell Brady Miller was born January 2, 1931 in Portland OR, to Grace and Otto Cantwell, the third of four children. Rena passed away September 22, 2010 at the age of 79.
She spent her early years in logging camps and spoke fondly of life in camp 8. She attended Vernonia schools. In 1948 she married Terry Brady; they raised their children in Vernonia and Randle where she was active in school activities, serving as the PTA president for many years.
After Terry's death in 1977, she met and married Glen Miller, they spent 32 wonderful years together. They lived 15 years in Ketchikan, AK where she worked as the office manager for Shuham, Milner, Schafer and Howard. After retirement they traveled Southwest states settling 10 years ago in Toledo, WA.
Rena loved reading and gardening. She was a member of the Winlock Garden Club. Those who knew her knew her to be a feisty, fun loving lady who was eager to help a friend in need.
Rena is survived by her husband Glenn of the home; daughter, Geri Anne Brady Kelly, Washington DC; sons, Ken (Heather) Miller, Ft. Wayne IN and Glenn (Mary) Miller, Puyallup; grandchildren: Brian, Moureen, Kasey (David), Jimmy, Katy, and Tanja; great grandchildren: Brycen, Benjerman, Byron, and one great grandchild on the way; nieces: Judi, Kelly and Kimberlee; nephews Dan, Darrel and Steve; "daughter number two", Sharon Hugh Goble and "son number two", Daniel J. Kelly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Grace and Otto, son Leslie, first husband Terry, sisters Frances Anne and Judith Lee, brother Leslie, and grandsons Barry and Nicholas.
At her wishes there will be no service. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.
