David Lee Alexander, 70, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at his home in Kansas City, MO after a long illness. He was born December 24, 1942 at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, KS. He was the only son of the late James H. Alexander and Eileen Robinson Alexander of Kansas City, KS. His mother died when he was 13 months old from complications from gall bladder surgery. He was raised by his father and stepmother, Nora. He grew up in Bethel, KS and was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School.

David met his wife of 44 years, [name removed], in 1967 and they were married in August, 1968. They made their home in the Parkville area until 2010 when they suffered a fire. He is survived by his wife, [name removed] of the home; two children, [names removed] of Parkville, MO; and [names removed] of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren: [names removed]. He is also survived by a sister, [name removed] of Kansas City, KS.

Mr. Alexander served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-1965. While in the Air Force he was trained and worked as a mechanic on C130 Military Transport airplanes at Loring Air Force Base in Maine as well as Korea, the Philippines and France.

Mr. Alexander worked as an aircraft mechanic and then mechanic inspector for TWA at the Kansas City Overhaul Base from June 1965 to 1999 when he retired after 34 years of service.

Mr. Alexander was Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor of Evangelistic Center Church of Kansas City for a number of years. During that time he served as Pastor at ECC North in Gower, MO from 1987-1996. He retired from ECC in Kansas City in 2009.

Mr. Alexander was an organ donor. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Evangelistic Center Church, 1024 Truman Road, Kansas City, MO. A Committal Service with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Parkville, MO.
