Israel Jones b. Sept. 12, 1830; d. Jan. 24, 1905; mar. Susan Garber b. 9.3.1841 [sic], d. 7.9.1859, mar. Susan Bowers b. 9.3.1841, d. 7.9.1929. He was married the first time 12.28.1854 by Elder Jacob Wine. His second marriage was 10.15.1860. He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was wounded at Bolivar Heights. Taken prisoner near Darksville 12.19.1862. They were farmers and lived about six miles west of Timberville, Virginia. Members of the Reformed Church. No children by either marriage. Buried in County Line Cemetery.

He was the son of John Jones and Mary Ann "Polly" Fansler.
