Sarah was a family historian of the Lewis and Meriwether families. In 1938 a book of her research titled "Lewises, Meriwethers and Their Kin" was published by her daughter. She was the first cousin twice removed from Capt. Meriwether Lewis. She was also the third cousin and fourth cousin once removed of her husband, Charles Anderson, who was the grandnephew of Capt. Lewis.

Mrs. Charles Anderson.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA., Feb. 11.—The funeral of Mrs. Charles Harper Andrson, who died at the residence of her son, Dr. M. L. Anderson, in Richmond, were held at noon at “Locust Hill,” formerly the home of Meriwether Lewis, at Ivy, this county.

Surviving Mrs. Anderson are three sons and two daughters—Dr. M. D Anderson, of Richmond; C. Harper Anderson, of Galveston, Texas; Rev. Alden S. Anderson, of North Carolina; Mrs. George Gordon, of Stafford County, and Mrs. Lucian Ward, of West Virginia.
