Gill Cribbs Atchison, only son of Albert Nelson Atchison and Ida Mae Atchison, was born November 19, 1899, and departed this life May 28, 1969, at the age of 69 years, 6 months, and 9 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Muriel Young, Grace Scott and Ruth McCallom.

He was married to Hazel Dell Moore November 11, 1922. To this union two sons were born, Darrell Dean and Gill Edward.

He leaves his wife, Hazel of the home and two sons, Darrell and his wife, Patricia of Kirwin; and Gill and his wife, Loretta and two grandchildren, Greg and Corrina of Phillipsburg; 1 sister, Jenny Henney of Palo Alto, California.

Gill was a kind and good man, the soul of honesty. He will be remembered by his family and those who knew him for his wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and great love of animals.

It was truly remarkable his ability to accept a fate of becoming deaf at an early age without becoming bitter. No one ever heard him express any bitterness at not being able to hear any of the delights of his sons' voices. It was truly a marvelous thing to watch him enjoy them at their play when they were little boys.

Gill was a sentimental and affectionate father and always referred to his sons Darrell as "Bub" and Gill as "Man".

He will be sadly missed by his wife, two boys and two grandchildren. He was looking forward to the birth of his third grandchild.

Gill was in very poor health for several years having been faithfully cared for by his devoted wife, Hazel, in the farm home near Kirwin where he was born.

Memorial services were held Saturday afternoon, May 31, in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel with the Rev. J.C. Daniel officiating.

Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Rahjes.

Casket bearers were Gene Hall, Willard Johnson, Garold McDowell, Clarence Holsman, Charles McDowell and Lawrence Reynolds.

Flower bearers were Serelda Hall, Helen Johnson, Dorothy Reynolds, and Colista McDowell.

Interment was in the Kirwin Cemetery, Kirwin, Kansas.
