Judge Houston Patton married Bill and Bonnie Gober Lewis (b. 1943) on June 28, 1975 in Jackson, Mississippi. Their daughter Amy Kristina was born in 1977. He was a loving step-father to Bonnie's three children Tammy, Robin, and Kevin Lewis. By his first marriage, he was father to Sherry, Joann and Kent. He is grandfather to Larry, Jamie, Stacy, William Brady and Presley Elisabeth.

He was happiest when outdoors hunting or fishing. While living in Lenoir, North Carolina, where he worked for Broyhill Furniture, he became an avid fly fisherman. By profession, he was a woodworker, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member from 1957 until his death in 1979 of Canton Lodge #28, F. & A. M., Chartered 04 Jan 1837, Canton, Mississippi.

Bill was a World War II veteran who is an honoree on the National World War II Memorial, Washington D.C. MISSISSIPPI US ARMY WW II. MILITARY POLICEMAN IN DETROIT MICHIGAN. SERVED IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS, RYUKYUS CAMPAIGN AS TECHNICIAN FIFTH GRADE, 3812ND ENGINEERS PETROLEUM DISTRIBUTION COMPANY.

He was the son of William Robert "Bunch" Crocker (1892-1975) and Frances Cornelia "Nelia" Russell Crocker (1894-1978). They are interred with two infant sons J.K. and Burdell in Cedarlawn Cemetery, Philadelphia, Neshoba Co, Mississippi.

Grandson of Robert Charles P. "Charlie" Crocker, b. August 4, 1859 Lauderdale Co, MS, d. March 16, 1944 Neshoba Co, MS; and, T. Florence Dorman Crocker, b. March 1861 MS, d. 1925 MS. They are interred in Cedarlawn Cemetery, Philadelphia, Neshoba Co, MS.

Bill was the g-grandson of John Calaway Crocker, born March 30, 1835 Marengo Co, Alabama, died August 1898 Leake Co, MS; and, Elizabeth Jane Strait, born December 6, 1832 Greene Co, Alabama, died December 17, 1917 Leake Co, MS. They are interred in Pearl Hill Cemetery in Leake Co, MS. John Calaway Crocker served with 35TH MISS INF, CO E, CSA, known as Muckalusha Guards of Neshoba County, organized 27 Nov 1861.

Bill was the gg-grandson of Clarke Crocker, b. about 1776 Spartanburg, SC - died 21 Oct 1854 in Lauderdale County, MS, and Anne Beason Crocker, b. about 1784 North Carolina, died after June 25, 1856.

CLARKE CROCKER
1807: Clarke Crocker appears on a Tax List in Baldwin County, Georgia.
1812: Clarke Crocker was a member of Capt. Hightower's Artillery unit of the Georgia Militia in War of 1812. He served from 14th Nov 1814 to 9th March 1815.
1815: Clarke Crocker was in Putnam County, Georgia where daughter Ann Crocker was born.
June 10, 1820: Clarke and Ann Crocker joined Ocmulgee Baptist Church in Perry County, Alabama.
December 22, 1827: Clarke and Ann Crocker dismissed by letter from Ocmulgee Baptist Church.
1830: Clarke Crocker appears on federal census in Marengo County, Alabama
February 4, 1831: Clarke Crocker, Land Patents, 80.38 acres in Perry County, Alabama; 79.12 acres in Marengo County, Alabama.
July 6, 1833: Meeting held at the house of C. Crocker in Sumter County, Alabama. Clarke and Ann Crocker were two of nine charter members of Bethany Baptist Church.
March 15, 1834: Clarke Crocker appears on a Voting List at Patton's Hill in Sumter County, Alabama.
March 15, 1837: Land Patent, Sumter County, Alabama for Clarke Crocker for 159.40 acres.
June 1, 1840: Clarke Crocker and family appear on the federal census in Kemper County, Mississippi.
September 27, 1850: Clarke Crocker and family were enumerated on the federal census in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. John C. Crocker appears on this census, age 20, born about 1830 in Alabama.
October 21, 1854: Clarke Crocker died in Lauderdale County, Mississippi according to the testimony of his wife Ann Crocker re her claim filed on June 25, 1856, contained in the 16-page Military Bounty-Land Warrant Application file received on Dec. 16, 2011 by researcher Bonnie Crocker from the National Archives in Washington, DC:

"Clark Crocker, Veteran War 1812, Capt Hamilton, Georgia Militia. Served 14 Nov 1814 to 09 Mar 1815"

"Clark Crocker aged about Seventy four years the husband of Ann Crocker, the said Clark Crocker Died about the 21st day of October A.D. one thousand Eight hundred and fifty four ... from Mrs. Ann Crocker vs Pension officer for Bounty Land, Claim Filed June 25 1856 ... the Death of her husband being required to be Proven ..."

"...that She is now the widow of Clark Crocker who died the 21st of October last and has never married Since his death."
