Thomas Argo was born in Galesburg, Pike County, Ohio on December 2, 1845. He moved with his parents to the Skidmore area from Ohio in 1884. The obituary lists seven surviving children (W. A. Argo, Skidmore; J. H. Argo, Quitman; Mrs. Lucy Wright, Shenandoah, Ia; Mrs. Anna Willits, Mound City, Ks; Mrs. Mattie Jones, Maryville; and Clarence Argo, Skidmore), 29 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
