"William L. Bales, age 91, died April 17, 2012, in Lampasas, Texas. William L. (Bill) Bales was born December 30, 1920, in Lampasas. He attended Texas A & M University, before enlisting in the Army Air Corp in 1939. Bill served as a pilot and an officer in the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) during WWII.
He was a pioneer in development and manufacturing; creating a golf car company, a snowmobile company, and a state of the art electric vehicle. In his later years, Mr. Bales retired to his ranch in Lampasas, Texas, where he established an exotic game hunting operation."
