|Death: ||Jul. 1, 1853|
It is generally presumed that David was the son of Timothy Berry and Mary Burnham who married in Scarborough in 1754, twelve years before David's birth. A 1798 Livermore deed refers to David as "of Scarborough." But this means only that he had been previously residing in Scarborough, not that he was born there. In the 1790 census a David Berry was listed just before a Timothy Berry, but this does not prove they were in adjacent households, as that census was more or less arranged alphabetically. Leeds does have a death record for "Mary the mother of David Berry." All of this means David might have been their son but does not prove it.
In 1798 David bought land in the area of Livermore which was annexed to Leeds in 1802, on the west side of the Dead River.
David married to Deborah Pratt in Leeds in 1804. They were both about 38 at the time of the marriage. About 1806 their daughter Almira was born. In 1870 Almira married for the first time, and became the fourth wife of Eben Stinchfield.
For a discussion of other children attributed to David, read Deborah (Pratt) Berry's memorial.
