Edwin George Andrews 1937 ~ 2003
Edwin George Andrews, 66, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2003 in Provo, Utah, the result of complications following surgery. He had been a resident of Orem, UT since 1999. Edwin was born in Lovell, WY May 4, 1937 the son of Edwin France Andrews and Ellene Annetta Johnson. He graduated from Deaver High School; North West Community College, Powell, WY; Brigham Young University; and received Master's Degrees from University of Utah and Park University. He was a member of the LDS Church. He served a mission to the North Central States Mission, serving in Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois. Was active in the church throughout his life, serving as bishop's counselor; Tri-region Singles Representative, CO; and as a temple worker. He was recently set apart as a Family History Missionary, which he was looking forward to very much. He was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Air Force, 1962 where he achieved the rank of Captain and served 20 years in Communications and retired as an Education Counselor. He then worked as an Education Counselor in the Civil Service, retiring in 1999. During the course of his military career, he traveled to all 50 of the United States and more than 40 countries. Edwin was full of life and had a variety of interests. His gardens were a masterpiece to be seen and many reaped the benefits of the wonderful produce, what wasn't enjoyed fresh, he canned and preserved. He was active in the Single Adult Programs and loved dancing. He enjoyed attending the temple regularly and loved children very much, and they were attracted to him also. One of his favorite holiday activities was to volunteer as Santa for the Polar Express, and other activities. Although disappointed that he did not have children of his own, he was the best uncle and great-uncle anyone could have had. He supported them in all of their activities and was a willing babysitter to the great-nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his sisters, Faye (Richard) Baker, Worland, WY, Helen (Terry) Jacobson, Dewey, AZ, Shirley (Harry) Zane, Heber City, UT; broth-er, Ervin (Jean) Andrews, Powell, WY, Ralph (Joyce) Andrews, Puyallup, WA; 13 nephews; 12 nieces; numerous great-nephews and nieces.
