Titled: David M. Beck Dies At Age 61
David M. Beck, 61, 531 N. Fifth St., died suddenly Monday morning. The life squad was called, removed him to Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 7:33 a.m. Mr. Beck, a widely known Hamilton resident, had been in the garage business in Hamilton for more than 45 years. He had been in ill health the last three years, but death was sudden and unexpected. Mr. Beck was born in Cincinnati on Dec. 27, 1900, a son of Max and Marie Scheban Beck. He ws christened in St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church, Cincinnati, and received his early education in public schools there. Grocery Store - The Beck family came to Hamilton in 1913, the elder Beck operating a grocery store on Long St. On Sept. 1, 1920, David Beck and Margaret L. Brown were married in St., John United Church of Christ. They enjoyed 42 years of married life until her death last Oct. 11. Mr. Beck was one of the earliest automoble mechanics in Hamilton, and early in life he evinced an aptitude for care of gasoline motors. For the four years preceding his death, Mr. Beck was in charge of service for vehicles operated by the Sherman Paper Stock Co. For a number of years before that he was associated with Fremont Cisle in the operation of the Freed and Dave service station and garage at Fifth and High St. Mr Beck was an affable person, an easy one to meet, and he made many friendships. Members Of family - He leaves a daughter, Juanita; three sisters, Miss Virginia Beck, Mrs. Carel (Verlie) Cosby, and Mrs. Albert (Charlotte) Chamberlain, all of Hamilton, a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Michael J. Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. third St. The Rev. Lester W. Dresch, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call at the fumeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday
