James Terrell Bullock was the son of James T. Bullock and Melinda Bledsoe. He had eight siblings: William Milton Bullock, Elizabeth Bullock, Mary Jane Bullock, Caroline Bullock, Durant Lane Bullock, Henry Asbury Bullock, Rebecca B. Bullock and Adeline Bullock.
On December 21, 1852, James Terrell Bullock married Euphemia Ellen Farabow in Granville County, North Carolina. They had five children: Susan Emma Bullock, Durant John Henry Bullock, William Monroe Bullock, Sr., James Dudley Bullock, Sr. and Charles Perpheny Bullock.
James Terrell Bullock was a native of Granville County, North Carolina. He was a farmer up until he went into the military.
On February 22, 1862, he enlisted in the Confederacy in Granville County, North Carolina as a Private. On April 16, 1862, Terry enlisted in the 46th North Carolina Infantry, Company E. He died in Richmond, Virginia on March 4th, 1865 of disease contracted during the Civil War.
