Birth: Sep. 11, 1934
Sussex County
Virginia, USA
Death: Aug. 14, 1969, Laos

Norman Angie Grammer was the son of Junus Angie Grammer and Julia Ellen Harrison. He had one sibling: Joan Harrison Grammer. He also had two half-siblings.

Here is an article from a newspaper about his death:

"DECORATED WAR VETERAN KILLED IN COPTER CRASH

Captain Norman Angie Grammer, 34 year old Sussex County native, was killed Thursday, August 14, when the helicopter he was piloting crashed and burned on a mountainside in Laos. He was a civilian pilot for Air America.

Grammer served ten years as helicopter pilot in the Army with tours of duty in Korea, Germany and Vietnam. He was the holder of the Air Medal for Conspicuous Bravery with 19 Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a member of England-Parsons American Legion Post, Astrea Lodge No. 246, AF & AM, and the Waverly Congregational Christian Church.

He was the son of Mrs. James Akers of Waverly, and the late Junie A. Grammer. He was married in Thailand this June to Uthai Manichan.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Calvin Adams of Waverly, and Mrs. John C. VanLear of Richmond; and a brother, J. Felix Grammer of Richmond.

Mrs. Grammer, who is accompanying the remains of her husband, is expected to arrive in Waverly the latter part of this week.

A funeral service will be held at a time still to be announced, in the Purviance Funeral Chapel in Wakefield by the Rev. Merle Sollingier and the Rev. J. L. Blackwell. Burial will be in the Waverly cemetery."

His wife, Uthai Manichan was a native of Thailand. She wanted to have him buried there but Norman's mother finally convinced her that it was best for him to be buried in the family cemetery in Waverly.
