Nelson is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Norma "Jean" (nee Wonnell); loving father of Sue (David) Beallis and Sharon (Howard Hertzberg) Gardner; grandfather of David Jr. (Heidi) Beallis, Daniel (Tracy) Beallis, Noe Buss, and Katelyn Gardner; great-grandfather of Alyssa, Colin, Haylee, Damien, Mia and David; his siblings, Frank Gardner, Madelyn Schauer, and Ethel Bly.
Preceded in death by his son, David Gardner; his parents, William and Mildred (nee Nelson) Gardner; one brother, Edward Gardner.
Funeral Services for Nelson J. Gardner will be Friday, December 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Manhattan Center Cemetery in Manhattan, IL.
