Patrick Fox, a coal miner at Avonmore, near Saltsburg, was almost instantly killed on Monday morning by a fall of slate in the mine. He was aged 60 years and leaves a widow and family of grown children. Coroner Miller was summoned and held an inquest, the jury found that the accident which caused his death was brought about by his own carelessness in putting off a blast.
