From the Leader-Telegram:
Mildred Helen Adams, age 86, of Mondovi passed away comfortably and peacefully at the American Lutheran Home of Mondovi on Saturday, June 11 with her loving family beside her.
She was born on August 31, 1924, the first child of 11 to the late Helmut and Alfa (Michaels) Bielefeldt.
Mildred, at the age of 13, began a road of hard but happy times in her life that only became happier when she met the love of her life while working on a farm in the Gilmanton area, Eldon Noble Adams. They were united in marriage on December 27, 1941 and to this loving union three children were born.
Together with her husband and children they farmed in the Township of Canton before they bought a farm of their own in 1948 in Modena. They proudly farmed together from 1948 until retiring to Alma in 1998. She also spent time working at the Gilmanton school district, Huntzinger farms. Midred also volunteered her time to the 4-H, the ladies aide and the Homemakers society.
Her time she loved the most was the time she was able to spend with her husband Eldon. Whether it was working side by side on the farm or side by side dancing or playing cards with friends, this was her life. After the passing of her beloved husband on March 23, 2003, Mildred relied on the love of her children and grandchildren to comfort her the rest of her days.
Mildred will be sadly missed by her children, Sharon (Dan) Mikelson of Yorkville, IL and Edward M. Adams of Mondovi; her son in law, Gary Clark of Roland, IA; four grandchildren, Brad (Diane) Mikelson, Bruce (Melissa) Mikelson, Cathy (Steve) Steward and David (Missy) Clark; ten great-grandchildren, Ryan and Isaac Mikelson, Jaykob and Ian Mikelson, Chelsea, Spencer, Zachary and Noah Steward, MaryBeth and Calvin Clark; siblings, Bernice, Delores, Jane and Peggy; also by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband Eldon, a loving daughter Mary Elizabeth Clark and six brothers and sisters preceded Mildred in death.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15 at 1:30 PM at the Lyster Lutheran Church in the Town of Nelson. Burial will follow at the Modena Cemetery, Modena, WI. A time of visitation and support for Mildred's family will be held on Tuesday, June 14 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot-Poeschel Funeral Home of Mondovi and again on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the Church.
The family of Mildred would like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt and sincere thank you to the staff at the American Lutheran Home for the devotion and loving care they gave to her during her stay.
