OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - February 24, 2011
Opal May Addis, 79, of Huntington, Indiana, formerly of Wabash, Indiana, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born May 1, 1931 in Paintsville, Kentucky, to David and Deleasie (Vanhoose) Jones.

She was married to Robert E. Addis on September 21, 1969 in Wabash; he died July 18, 1984. She had worked at Vernon Manor Children's Home and Container Corporation, both in Wabash. She lived in Wabash 45 years until she moved to Huntington in 2008.

She is survived by four sons, Glen (Sherry) Evans of New Port Richey, Florida, Rick (Michelle) Evans of Wabash, Larry (Julio) Evans of Clearwater, Florida, and Bob (Liz) Evans of Wabash; nine grandchildren, Cindy (Terry) Jimes of Huntington, Craig Evans of New Port Richey, Missy Castner of Akron, Ohio, Kyle (Hilary) Evans of Roann, Indiana, Tyler Evans, Ryan Evans, and Brady Evans, all of Wabash, Jeffrey Stevens and Tina Leland, both of Fort Wayne; nine great grandchildren; three brothers, Holly Jones, Rolly Jones, and Leslie Jones, all of Kentucky; three sisters, Molly Penix of Wabash, Polly Castle, of Ohio, and Numie Campbell, of Kentucky; and her special friend, Oakie Brown of Huntington. She was preceded in death by her son, John Evans; two grandchildren, Jeff and Jamie Evans; two brothers; and a sister .

Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. #Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is Huntington Area Transportation (HAT), 354 N. Jefferson, Huntington IN 46750.
