Robert Kimbley, 79, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston following a lengthy illness.
He was the youngest son of Bert and Anna Dorendorf Kimbley, born April 13, 1924, at Crescent, Idaho, which was located near Three Bear Road.
He attended school at Crescent and in his teenage years began his logging career working for Claude Craig.
In the 1940s and 1950s he was a Cat operator and skidded logs for Diamond Match and Potlatch Forest Industries. He cleared and farmed the land on the family farm until he placed the land in the soil conservation program. He also raised cattle until his health forced him to retire.
Robert had an enduring love for animals and always had a dog or two around the house. He loved to hunt and fish and one of his favorite pastimes was visiting with his friends, neighbors and family.
Robert is survived by two sisters, Edna Magee of Lewiston and Margaret Craig of Moscow; and 18 nieces and nephews, two predeceased.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert Kimbley and Anna Kimbley Baker; stepfather Ben Baker; stepbrother Russell Baker; brother Lloyd Kimbley; and sister, Irene Hudson.
Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Southwick Cemetery. A reception will follow for all in attendance at the Southwick Community Center.
The family suggests memorials to the Southwick Community Center Fund, c/o Betty Mustoe, 39418 Southwick Road, Kendrick, ID 83537, or a charity of their choice.
Malcolm's Funeral Home of Lewiston is in charge of the arrangements.
