A memorial service will be held at Oak Grove United Methodist Church on Monday, Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m. Jane died at Willamette View Manor of heart failure on Nov. 21 at age 91. Jane was born Dec. 2, 1919 in Spokane, Wash. the only daughter of Clark F. Myers and Olivia C. Banzer. She was raised in the Yakima Valley area and graduated from Grandview High School. She was a National Honor Society president and editor of their Annual. Jane's maternal grandparents containing three generations came to the Oregon Territory from Mahaska County, Iowa by covered wagon in 1852. They settled in LaCenter, Wash. Her paternal grandparents also came from Mahaska County, Iowa in 1879, settling in Yacolt, Wash. Jane was a charter member of the Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington. Jane graduated from Central Washington College where she studied to be an elementary teacher. Jane taught two years at Washougal, five years in Vancouver and 24 years in the Portland District. Jane married Everett W. Arnold in Vancouver, Wash. in 1948. The marriage produced two sons, David E. in 1951 and Dean R. in 1954. David preceded his mother in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Boyd Howard and Frank Joel. Survivors include her husband; son, Dean R. of Gresham; grandsons, Sean and Thomas Arnold and their mother, Nancy Anne. Disposition is by cremation. Remains will be placed in the LaCenter Cemetery where her parents, grandparents and various aunts, uncles and cousins are also interred. Memorial gifts may be made to either the Oak Grove United Methodist Church or the Willamette View Foundation.
