Passed away January 25, 2011 in Mesa, AZ. at the age of 85. She was born in Denver, Co., December 1, 1925. She grew up in Denver, California, then in Jacksonville, Fl. After finishing school she went to work as one of the many " Rosie the Riveters" during WWII. There she met and married her husband, Curtis Ray Allen at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Fl. When the war was over they moved to Oregon,there they had and raised 5 children and built a home in Oregon City. They first retired to Crooked River Ranch,Or., then to Mesa, Az. there they really enjoyed retirement at Venture Out. They were married 52 years until his death in December of 1997. Betty loved to travel,fish, hunting, jewelry making, golf.
Survivors include, daughters Laura, Nancy, son Jerry, sister Mary Karlsson and dear friend Lloyd. Betty had 8 grand children and 11 great-grand children. She is preceded in death by Mother, Father, 2 sisters Kay and Greta, son Bill, daughter Charlotte and Grandson Brian.
She will be forever loved and missed, we will be keeping you in our hearts.
Service will be held at Hillside Chapel in Oregon City, Or and will be buried with her husband at Willamette National Cemetary in Portland, Or.
Betty was born in Denver She was a real estate agent and homemaker Betty is survived by her daughters, Laura Brown and Nancy Hanna; and son, Jerry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis R.; son, Bill; and daughter, Charlotte R. Smith. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, in Hillside Chapel, Oregon City.
