Janetta's name has been spelled many different ways in the Census records. Examples: Genetta (on her marriage license) and on some census, Jeanette on her marker, Janetta on other census. Sometimes just "G.A." and sometimes "Ann."
Jeanette married James Henry (J.H.) Landers (1852-1894) on July 1, 1872 in Harrison County, Tx. Together they were blessed with the following children:
John Henry Landers b.8/14/1873 d. 6/1/1932 Upshur Co, Tx.
Cecil Landers b.4/1875
John Buford Landers b. 3/1/1877 d. 4/12/1930 Upshur Co.
Rosa A. Landers b. 1879
Mary L. b. 2/1880
Luella D. (Magrill) b. 12/1882
Hattie (Ray) b. 7/1884
Amanda Frances "Fannie" (Vaughn)b. 2/1886
Julia Lee (Shepperd) 2/5/1889-12/9/1918
Dollie (Vaughn) b. 9/1893
Jeanette was widowed at age 43. Her husband, J.H. was tearing down an old chimney when some bricks fell striking him on the head. He never recovered from this injury, and died, apparently from internal bleeding, several months later in a Kaufman County hospital.
In her later years, Jeanette went to live with her daughter, Hattie, who was married to Robert Ray ...and her family, until she passed on.
